A 2017, Winter Semester Toronto Bucketlist

New Year, New me am I right?! Just kidding, but maybe actually somewhat. I’ve found myself pondering ideas of new activities to try around the city after lazily scrolling instagram and blogto and thinking to myself “Wow, to be honest, this city has a lot to offer.” Breanna (my roommate and last year’s vlog costar) and I have created a little bucket list of activities we haven’t done in the city to open ourselves up to experiences, feelings and possible cultures. Which I’m sharing with you for weekend trips, date ideas, your birthday, or even study breaks!

  1. Paint Lounge :784 College St.

Paint Lounge is this crazy cool place, where instead of just going for coffee, you can get your creative juices flowing by painting! They offer freestyle paint sessions, and event classes. You can even host a party here! Students get 10% off a freestyle session with their student card! Find more Here.

2. Axe Throwing – 1245 Dupont St or 153 Bridgeland Ave., Unit 15-16 (Yorkdale)

BATL is a target axe throwing area, where you can sharpen your hand-eye coordination (I’m so punny right?). It’s a cool and unique thing to do with friends if you book a group, you can socialize and join a league or even just go in on a walk-in afternoon! More information here Here.

3. Ripleys Aquarium – 288 Bremner Blvd

Ok I know this is very over-done but the GCSU (Glendon College Student Union) / AECG (L’Association Etudiant Collge Glendon) sells discounted tickets at only $20, and I have not gone yet, therefore it’s evident this is still on my list! They also have Friday Night Jazz every second Friday with live music and cash bars. Also a really great spot for Valentine’s day in my opinion! Check out their website.

4. Salsa Dancing- 1585 Dundas St W

Lula Lounge hosts Salsa Lessons every Saturday at 9pm for only $15 per person! Once you get the hang of it, stay for the rest of the night and enjoy some really authentic Latin music mixed with top 40! Find more at Lula Lounge.

5. ROM Friday Night Live – 100 Queen’s Park

The Royal Ontario Museum puts on awesome live music events every few Fridays to celebrate special occasions, the next one being this Friday February 3rd in lieu of Black History Month for only $13 entrance for students. Wander the museum, grab a drink or even dance! Purchase tickets here.

Hope you all get inspired to try something new this month! After all, reading week is only 3 weeks away, which makes it the perfect time to take an exciting study break if you’re staying in the city!

See you all soon,

Krysta
